Conflict resolution techniques. Compromising vs Collaborating

Can somebody please provide me a couple of examples? Both terms sound so similar
Compromising. This technique involves finding solutions that bring some degree of satisfaction to both parties. This is a lose-lose situation, since no party gets everything. Compromising is not the best choice, but rather second to confronting.
Collaborating. In this technique, the parties try to incorporate multiple viewpoints in order to lead to consensus.
