Conflict resolution techniques. Compromising vs Collaborating

Can somebody please provide me a couple of examples? Both terms sound so similar

Compromising. This technique involves finding solutions that bring some degree of satisfaction to both parties. This is a lose-lose situation, since no party gets everything. Compromising is not the best choice,  but rather second to confronting.

Collaborating. In this technique, the parties try to incorporate multiple viewpoints in order to lead to consensus.

Compromising means both people give something up. So if a functional manager needs a resource for another project, maybe you negotiate and they give something up too. It's a lose-lose scenario because both people walk away a little disappointed.

In Collaborating, it's more about taking everyone's views into consideration. For example, a risk has been identified and you're planning the response. But 2 team members can't come to an agreement on response. Instead of choosing only one solution, maybe they both have valid ideas and you can incorporate them both into a risk response. More of a win-win scenario because both ideas were used and both are happy.

What do others think? Does that sound right?
