Q framed by me from PMBOK

A project management team calls bids for procuring some customized products and for that they have to mention procurement statement of work in their request. From where they will able to develop the required procurement Statement of Work:
1. Project Charter
2. Project Scope baseline
3. Project scope statement
4. Project WBS

STATUS REPORT AND  PROGRESS REPORT

Q

A Team member submitted you a yet to date cumulative report of cost incurred in an activity no ID456 and you asked her for this week generation of EV in that activity.

Which statement is correct in terms of report formats were communicated between you and her:

  1. She was submitting a progress report while you were asking for a status report.

  2. You were asking for a status and progress report both and she was submitting also both reports.

  3. She was submitting a status report and you were asking for a progress report

  4. Earlier that was progress report and as you asked for was a progress report as well as a status report both.

if I say

at what page you are today reading pmbok

and your answer if would be = page 330

it is a status of your study. or status report

if I ask how many pages you have read in last week

and your answer would be if == 15 pages

it is progress of your study or progress report

hence option C will be the answer.

 Q

Work performance information is an output of direct and manages project execution, it is used as input to following process except:

A.     Monitor and control project work

B.     Perform integrated change control

C.    Report performance

D.    Administer procurement

Q

Approved change request may includes following except

A.     Corrective action

B.     Preventive action

C.    Policies modifications

D.    Resource reassessment

All projects can be mapped to the following life cycle structures:

A.     Starting the project, Organizing and Preparing , Carry out the Project work and Closing the project

B.     Feasibility stage, Initiation of project, Execution and Control, and Close out

C.     Initiating , Planning, Executing, Monitoring and Controlling , and Closing

D.    Concept, Design, Planning and Implementing, and Delivering

Q1
During project closure to ensure all project requirements have been completed, as a project manager you will perform all below except one:
A. Review prior phase closure documentation
B. Review customer acceptance documentation from verify scope process
C. Review Contracts
D. Review of success and failure process

Q2
Lesson learned will include information on all below except:
A. Issues during projects
B. Techniques that found significant
C. Risks
D. Requirements

Hope, below may be the answers..

Q1 (A) .. Nothing to do with prior phase closure documentaion during current phase.

Q2 (D) .. Lessons learned is more about how efficiently handled on issues and risks. So, Requirement is excluded.

Sorry Sunder I could see it very late ,

2nd question is rightly answered no doubt LL mainly stress over Risk, issues, and technical significance as per PMBOK

Ist question is little tricky --- all 4 is required to document before closure , PMBOK p 102., also second line of 4.6.

But in D- option is shown as "Review of success/failure process", -- processes never be reviewed anywhere except in quality - process improvement. while closure - success/failure audited.

Collect ------records -----files

Audit ------- success/failure ----

Archive ------ information

Gather ----- LL

In define scope process project documents are updated which includes all except:

A.     Stakeholder register

B.     Requirement documentations

C.    Requirement traceability matrix

D.    Risk register

A.     It is effort hours available in Resource calendar which are not be utilized during a schedule.

B.     It is buffer available in Critical Chain method

C.    It is a type of activity, which runs parallel to the main activities, and not measured separately.

While reviewing a schedule network and resource allocation of a sub-project, a senior manager, objects that in certain activities resources are over-allocated. Here Over allocation means:

A.     One resource is allocated over 2 or more activities in same time.

B.     More resources than required are allocated at certain activities in same time.

  1.

A project having BAC = 20000, in a point of time when its 80% work was over, its TCPI is reported as 1.2. What is its CPI?

A.

0.833

B.

1.20

C.

0.96

D.

0.90

Ans :C. 0.96

San you  are absolutely correct !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

how you score this question? easy/moderate/tough

Pawar Sir,

This question is completely based on the formulas. If we know the formulas,  we can execute this question correctly. I will rate this as Moderate.

Thanks

You are following EVM methodology for forecasting project estimates, in this prospects which statement is true?

  1. At a point of time if ETC is different than what was earlier planned, then EAC will also be always different than BAC.
  2. If there is an atypical case, its EAC will never be equal to BAC.
  3. If there is a typical case, at any point of time TCPI will be the same as CPI.
  4. All above
crushPMP's picture

^ I'll go with 4 on this one. All sentences are correct

sspawar - good questions, keep them coming.

 CrushPMP Re-think

This could be 2.

It is an open fundamental, but rarely we reach to that.

to make aware of that fact, I made this quest.

Still not the right one.(as per my view)

I had a doubt between 1 and 2.

Now , I go with option 1.

Please provide the explanation as to validate my analysis.

Thanks

What does this formula say?

TCPI = (BAC - EV) / (BAC - AC)

take example of just above one question

BAC = 20000, TCPI = 1.2

Planned ETC at 80% completion, should be 4000, but it is in fact 3333.33, and with the same BAC, project is getting completed. -- hence option 1 is not true.

It is an atypical case , because  CPI is not same through out the project - but with the same BAC, project is getting completed. -- hence option 2 is not true.

What is problem with option 3 - in typical case , through the project period only one CPI remains all the time.

Hence option 4 is not true.

  1. At a point of time if ETC is different than what was earlier planned, then EAC will also be always different than BAC.
  2. If there is an atypical case, its EAC will never be equal to BAC.
  3. If there is a typical case, at any point of time TCPI will be the same as CPI.
  4. All above

Yes, in typical case CPI remains same. But how can TCPI and CPI could be the same. Please clarify this point.

Thanks

TCPI by definition is nothing but CPI of remaing work with available fund.

This kind questions exactly what i was looking for...Thanks again..

That's a great job dude. Ayo pakai jasa seo tahunan dari kita.
