KILLED this exam. 4Ps, 1 MP - Exam Debrief

Arrive early so that you're not stressing about parking.  I was lucky to find a parking space after taking 3 trips around the parking lot.  Don't make the same mistake I did.  Give yourself plenty of time before the exam.

Relax.

Preparation:

-rita book (good for establishing fundamentals)

-pmstudy practcie exams - I was scoring in the mid 60's on the first two, and this had me concerned.

-The exam simulator that was posted in this thread:

http://pmzilla.com/5ps-after-2-fail-attempts-lessons-learned

For 2 days, I just kept doing problems.  Something just "clicked" and I started to understand why so many people fall for the wrong answers.  It was like I didn't have to use process of elimination anymore.  I just knew what the correct answer was after so much practice.

-On the next two pmstudy exams I scored 89% and 91%

At this point I knew I was ready.  I was really lacking on sleep, but I drank plenty of coffee and made it through the exam easily.

This exam isn't as hard as people think once you put in the time for doing lots of practice problems.  There are only so many variations of the same questions they can ask.

Good luck!  I'll be celebrating :))

Marathi - I passed the exam today as well with the same scores. I pretty much had a very simiar study pattern to you. COngrats!

Congrats!!! I'm going to continue celebrating all weekend :))

Drink up! haha

 Congratulations !

Thank you!

If this is a genuine post, congratulations.

You should explain to the readers of this forum for their benefit that what is in there that made it CLICK. I have not seen something that gets the benefits out in 2 days. So if it indeed does, then good for the readers of this forum.

I've used the same guide, and the simple answer to your question is the "rewiring" of the brain in a short period of time through extensive real-like practice problems.

I exeperienced the same improvement after days of just doing those problems.  Naturally I became better, and better at identifying both the right answer, and the decoy answers.

The PMP exam material isn't difficult, it's the exam and its trickiness that are challenging.  You can only spend so much time reviewing the fundamentals and theory.  Until you condition your mind to handle PMP exam problems, you won't see significant progress in exam scores.

Worked very well for me.

Congrats!

Hard work pays off!

Another one of my coworkers just passed the exam after failing on her first attempt.

It's all about the practice and training the brain.  She knew her fundamentals solid, but I'm telling you folks, this is a tricky exam, and there's no easier way to master it than to practice with real-like problems.

Good luck!

Bump for those who are frustrated about this exam.  Read quite a few threads recently about people who are discouraged, and I hope this inspires them.
