Q on Critical Path

Please share schedule network diagram for following to get critical path

 In the project network diagram shown below, which of the following tasks will have some float?

1)      A
2)      E
3)      F
4)      C

 Not able to paste image from word.

 No problem

you can write down all activities with their durations and series of paths

for example

Activity       Dur

A                 2

B                 5

C                6

D                8

E                5

Now paths like

A-C-D -E

B-C-E

On this basis a network diagram can be sketched and can be answered.

There any relation like FS/FF/SS OR LEAD/LAG canbe mentioned.

 Here are paths and their durations:

Path Duration

A-B --->3

A-E ---> 2

B-C ---> 4

C-D ---> 3

D-H ---> 3

E-C ---> 5

E-F ---> 4

F-G ---> 4

C-G ---> 2

G-H ---> 4

PATH

AEFGH = 14

All other path have 13 days

hence activitIES on critical path=

AEFGH

HENCE OPTION D IS ANSWER

 Above presentation is example of AOA method.

Here option are given like - A E F C are not activities, but this are nodes.

hence figure only as above.

In this method drawbacks is that - forward and backward passes can not be indicated.

Hence AON is better than this. In PMP generally this AON method is asked, like in case of ES/ EF/LS/LF.

Above example can be solved by AON like this:

 Thank You Sir. I was mainly having problem to convert these paths to activites and to get  the end. Now i got it.
