ITTOs
Submitted by Jay22 on Sat, 07/14/2012 - 15:07
What do you guys think is the best way to learn ITTOs? I understand the concept quite clearly but I am not able to retain the ITTOs in my brain. Do you think it's even possible to remember all the ITTOs for the exam? If you were able to do it, I tip my hat to you. :)
For mortals like me who cannot, any TTs to remember the ITTOs? Any resources on this website that I can use for the same?
Many thanks!

Wow!!!
WOW jkm2282, you want keys to the kingdom and you want someone to tell you how to do it. Ok, I will tell you how I did it as I am little okay on it. Then you can develop yourself and may be one day you just MIGHT get the keys to the all-encompassing kingdom!
I subscribed to Brainbok. Started doing KA wise. Brainbok was and is free for the first two processes, Integration and Scope. So for 20 days I studied on these two topics ONLY without paying :)
Once I was little confident then I bought Brainbok and started practising and then endeavoured to find the established logical relationship between them (ITTOs).
Apart from logical relationship, I started thinking why it is and why it should not be.
Thats it. Sir, I am no great shakes with ITTOs. I am constantly learning and improving. I still score, on an average 80+% on the tests of 100-200 questions on Brainbok.
Wish there was another route to achieve PMP than hard work.
Warmly, Kranti Kumar aka KK....

Thanks, can you give me the link of the said BrainbOK?
And I am not sure what's so WOW about it? I just asked for tips on how to study it, and wanted to know how people who have successfully passed the exam did it, is all. Not like I am looking for any shortcuts and am under the illusion that I will pass the PMP without any hard work.

Thanks. I am planning to take the exam in Sep/Oct time frame depending on my preparation. So I still have enough time. I generally study around 90 mins on weekdays and 5 hours on weekends. I have done a couple of PM courses in grad school, so not everything I am reading is new to me. But still, I am coming across some new concepts which I need to understand fully.

Good
Excellent to know that 'Time' is not a constraint for you which, incidentally, is not very common. The time that you are devoting is also great. Once you start solving ITTOs on a daily and regular basis, you'd be v v comfortable in less than a month. I was also very uncomfortable with the ITTO ghost but with the passage of time and daily input of some quality time on ITTOs only, am little comfortable now. Now, I've started uncorking the 2nd djinn out of the bottle and that is PMP "Maths". I've also joined a study group started by Britt in EST. All the best for your pursuit. We shall be in touch. My personal email id for PMP purposes is krantikumarpmp@gmail.com. Warmly, Kranti Kumar aka KK :) :) :)

Thanks, good luck to you as well. You talked about solving ITTOs on a regular basis, any specific resources you use for that? I have just printed out the ITTOs from an excel sheet, and just try to go over it whenever I can. But I not sure if it helps, I think it will be more beneficial if there are quizes based on the PMP questions on ITTOs - those would be fun to solve.

Yes, it is...
Yes, true. Brainbok is a paid site. 29.99$ for exact three months. The validity is 3 months. However, PIntegrationMgmnt and PScopeManagement is free. I read and practiced all on these two KAs only and in a fortnight I bought for $29.99. Since you plan to appear in 3 months so it is an excellent buy. After 3 months you would ROCK :)... PMPQ
You can prepare for the exam using your mobile device.
When you get over 80% in the exams, you will be prepared to pass the exam in the first attempt.
Try PMPQ Lite, it is free: www.pmtraining.es/indexPMPQuestionsLite.htm
Good luck

IITO is base of the PMP exam
IITO is base of the PMP exam, its good that you are serious about it. Around 80% of PMP questions would be based on IITO, directly or indirectly.
The best way to remember IITO is that you practice, keep a target of 30 days and practice about 50 PMP questions daily. You might not get so much PMP questions for free, so buy from some source and practice daily.
I do not advice people to learn IITO because majority of PMP questions would have situations and using your concepts and IITO understanding you will have to choose the answer that would also be based on IITO. What matters more here is that, how much practice and understanding you have for IITO.

I agree with you, Saket,
I agree with you, Saket, specially with the last para. I have concluded that there is no point trying to memorize them, better to devote that time and energy trying to understand the concepts properly. That's much more beneficial.
Any paid sources you would for practice questions, there are many which I find online, but don't know which one to buy. Any recommendations? Thanks!

You should be able to choose the one that you find difficult. Also, read people LL here who passed PMP, what they referred and what they found to be close.
Also, some people have formed a study group here. Why not join them and check with them too?

Thanks, study group is an awesome idea, I would certainly look into it.
I was browsing through Bestsamplequestions a while back, don't you just hate it when these websites have listed the questions and the answers just below them, defeats the whole purpose of a quiz, ugh!!

Hi jkm2282,
You may try Britt directly britt.ann12@gmail.com.
I am also a participant of this study group. We have had two sessions of an hour each so far. You have not missed much therefore. Send her a mail/request and the lady would be too willing to take you in the study group.
Yes, I totally endorse your views when you say its very disgusting when the answers are right at the bottom of the question. If you want, you may try pmzilla tough questions (really tough) and www.pmpforsure.com. PMPforsure offers 100 free questions. So try it and if you like then you may go forward. Brainbok, as per me, is the best resource for ITTOs. If there are others, I am not sure.
The next session of the study group is on Thursday. So, if you join, see you there.
Warmly, KK....
