Question - performance against the project baseline

136.

A project manager wants to measure project performanc eagainst the project baseline.

Which of the following techniques would be the MOST helpful ?

a ) Variance Analysis

b ) Earned Value Technique

C ) Work performance Measurements

D ) Reserve Analysis

What do you think and why

variance analysis

I tought that Also, it make sens, Simplil learn says tu use Earned valued..

i think this is wrong

The correct answer is Earned value because you calculate your CV, SV, SPI and CPI to determine if you project is ahead/behind schedule or budget.

Variance analysis is done to control scope and not project performance

Hope this helps!!

thanks!

You are right, thanks for your input, I didn't realized

Control scope = Variance Analysis

while

Control cost = Earned value management

I don't know why there is no Earned value managment in Control Schedule as in Control Cost.

For control schedule, i see Variance Analysis under the Techniques  ( Performance reviews )

vs. for scrope it's a main Tool and Techniques.

But :

just to say that

In Techniques Performance review in Control Sehedule you have Earned value management and in the text it says :

Variance analysis can be performed..... to identify variances between the schedule baseline and actual project performance
