Passed my PMP Yesterday!

I want to share my experience to PMP aspirants so that it might help in their preparation.

Study materials:

1.       Head First PMP

2.       Rita Mulchay

3.       PMBOK

PMBOK is main preparation material from PMI. But to start with and to understand the concepts, Heard First PMP is good. It has pictorial representation of subject and will enhance the understanding of concepts.

Try to read Rita Mulchay and PMBOK at least two times before practicing mock exams. Focus on understating the concepts.

I used below websites for practice exams:

1.       Rita Mulchay  - All practice exams in end of chapters. (Redo second time when you finished studying)

2.       Oliver Lehman – Very Hard.

3.       Head First PMP – Mock exam (175 questions).

4.       Exam Central – This one helped me very much.

5.       Simplilearn.com

6.       PM Study.com

7.       Register in PM Daily digest - pmexam.com

Practice well before exam. Try to take atleast 3 to 4 Mock exams. Almost 90% of exam questions are situational. 50% of questions you can answer with basic understanding of subject. The rest needs good practice.

Since most of the exam questions are situational - Focus on UNDERSTANDING the subject rather than memorizing. Also understand how different process interrelates and how the flow happens.

Take it easy day before exam - Relax previous day so that you can focus well on the exam. Don’t try to take exam in one stretch. Take at least two or three short breaks between exams to regain the focus.
