PMP new exam pattern

I saw in PMI website that the exam pattern is going to change from August 31st.  But, PMI has also mentioned that the questions will be based on 4th edition only.  How do i need to prepare for that.  If anybody has any idea on that, can you please share.

As you have already read the details on PMI, concentrate on PMBOK 4th Ed if you are planning on taking after Aug 31, 2011.

I took the exam yesterday and passed. Got Proficient in all but one of the areas and moderately profiecient in that one. I only used Rita's book (6th edition). Did not buy the practice exams (fasttrack). I did not read the PMBOK. Did not take any courses or classes for exam prep. I think the exam is not as tough as people make it out to be. Just using Rita's book is sufficient. I only spent about two weeks studying and that too only a few hours each day as I did not have time. In my opinion it is best not to memorize but understand the concepts and flow. Trying to memorize things only makes matters confusing.

Hi Usha... Congratulations.


I heard this from many people that the exam is not tough at all. If you read Rita well its enough to pass the exam.


I have enrolled for 30th of August and look forward for your help and suggestions.  I have posted one query on contingency and management reserves...can you please clarify my doubt on that one.
