Hi Nish... CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to know your secreat of preparation!!!!!   I'm really wondering seeing your statement "Total study hours around 40 hrs spread over 20 days".  Could you please share your best practices at the ealiest.  I'm planing for 4th Edition in 3rd week of Jul-09 and sure there is no big difference between 3rd & 4th....   some of our friends recomonding that 60-80% of questions directly getting from wwww.techfac360.com... Is it true?

Appreciate your quick response and thanks in advance for all your help.

You are really a master... PMP completed just in 40hrs?

Best Regards,

Ramu.

Hi Ramu,

My apologies for not listing the best practice yet, however had lot of work to do at work and couldn't get time to pen down the information. But I will get it by this weekend and I feel you have sufficient time to study, dont worry.

Regarding wwww.techfac360.com, I didnt do any questions from this website.

I agree that there is not much difference in terms of concept between PMBOK 3 and PMBOK 4 but there are some changes to ITTO.

Yes, I did clear the exam in less than a month, study hours may not be exact 40 hrs as lot depends upon what do we mean by studying :) , but its not more than 45 hrs.

I am writing all about my exam process, just give me couple of days.

Small tip: Focus on concepts and do not spend lot of time on internet, read books and clear concepts.

Good luck

and Thanks Pradeep and Ramu

Thanks Nish... I can understand your busy work... i will wait for your resp.  Mean while im going thru reading the PMBOK 4th... target daily two lessons after that your tips :-)   BIG THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT.

Hi Ramu,

I have started writting my lessons learned (just started, lot more to be written, remember Progressive Elaboration), please visit my blog for more details as I can not cover everything here. For summary here it is:

1. You need not ready every book available in market. PMBOK and Rita are good enough, above that depending on time availability you can read Andy and Headfirst

2. No need to give each every questions available, give only quality assessment exams like PMstudy, Oliver, try PMZilla ques. PMTI.

3. You can clear the exams in 4-8 weeks time.

Remember, do not consider the results in these exam (good or bad) as reflection of score in actual exam. Use these tests only to find gaps and cover them up in last week.

Total amount I spend while preparing for PMP was $20, so you can get PMP certification without spending thousands of dollar.

I will keep adding my inputs depending on the availability of time, for any specific inputs you can email me through PMzilla or contact me through my blog

Thank you very much Nish!!!! I do not have much time to go through all the sites and books available in the market and I agree with you 100%.

At present, I'm goigh through PMBOK then Joseph Phillips and then PMStudy Q'Bank/Mock test and write my exam. Hope im on the right direction. Pls let me know how to memorize the ITTO (I know we need to remember logically) in a short term.. appreciate all your help. Thanks again!!!!

Ramu
