Do pilots/demos/POC's (2-3 months) count as projects in PM experience in the PMP application ?

Hi,

I have managed a project where the end deliverable was a demo application or a pilot, this work took 3 months. Do I put it in my PMP application? Will PMI count that towards my eligibility points?

There's nothing written on that subject in the handbook, so did anybody have a similar experience?

Accoring to what you have written here, it looks like a project. But only you can determine whether or not it is classified as a project or not.

PMP Requirement
There are 2 requirements to appear for PMP certification -
 1. Project Management Experience
 2. 35 hours of Project Management Education
 
Project Management Experience
 
* You need 4500 hrs of PM experience if you have a 4 years degree (bachelors degree or global equivalent).
* You need 7500 hrs of PM experience if you have secondary degree (high school diploma or global equivalent).
 
The PM experience should be in a leading & directing projects. You must have performed Project Management role before applying for PMP.
 However, Project Management role is not equivalent to Project Manger designation or title. PM role just means that you should have managed full or part of a project. Your role in the project could be related to vendor management, team management, client management etc. The projects could be related to any industry. They could be big or small, technical or non-technical etc.
