Passed PMP exam 9th July

Hi , I passed PMP exam on 2nd try on 9th July. Here is my learnings

After I failed first time ,I changed the strategy instead of KA – I followed by process groups. That gave me a better overall picture

I sticked to PMBOK and PMP Training Kit by Sean Whitaker which is a good book.

OSP PMP is good and Corneiuis strikes at basic stuff.I scored 80%(attempted 3) in  200 Q EXAMS

Fahad of PMStudy circle also does the same.I scores 75% and 78 IN 2 tests

Oliver – 175q -59%

Oliver -75q – 64%

PMZest and PM Zilla were of best quality and NOT ONLY made my mind thinking but scratched my head. Scored 65-69% on average in PMZest. Scored 54% in PMZilla. This was tough because PMZilla concentrated on hard topics.

Strategy on Exam day: I wrote down Initiating,Executing,M&C and Closing ITTO in 15 mts on paper- That covered 77% of exam portion. The exam questions were simple as I was better prepared this time and completed in a whopping 2 hrs 50 mts.I reviewed only those which I left blank and needed review .I did not review rest of  the questions just as I did in practice exams. My heart was beating faster after I clicked End Exam and after feedback – came Congratulations. Felt too good and delighted to see.

Exam Preparation – 4 months – 3 hrs daily i.e, after office hours.I did not take any special leaves and took only one leave only on the day of  exam. I practiced around 4000 questions.

I thank  my 2 kids Charan and Revanth, wife Bhargs for supporting me in achieving this PMP.This was indeed tough but I enjoyed last 3 weeks of preparation. This time I was sure and I really wanted PMP.

I want to get back to normal life now and I worked closed to 4 months of serious hard work  hard achieving this prestigious certification.

Advise: PMBOK is the main to pass the exam. Irrespective how many books you study you have to come to this book at last.

Thanks

Congratulations Yadagiri. Well deserved. I passed the PMP exam in very similar format (2nd attempt) recently so I know your happiness.

Good luck for your future Goals,
Sabrina, PMP

Thanks Sabrina. Wish you the same.

Congrats Yadagiri on passing PMP!

Thanks

I got 4 MP 1BP .

The tests were not close enough but I would say its tough. Actual PMP test was easy in terms of understanding the question.

Hi..First of all very congratulations for the PMP.

2nd and a very intresting thing which you have mentioned in your LL that you had wrote all the ITTOS for your dump sheet.

Can you please just clarify my confusion that ITTOS as in all the input tools and techniques and out for all the proceeses(As in Develop project charter or Plan cummunication managment plan) or the processes as in all Initiating,Planning,Executing.

How much it helped you in the exam(As i have heard only 2-3 question come from ITTO)

I hope i have made my questsion clear here:-)

Thank you very much in advance.

Thanks Nisha .

I wrote ITTO for Initiating,Executing,M&C,CLosing - That comrises of 23 processes .

2-2-8-11 - processes in each group.

As PMP will test in physically and mentally ,I came abt this idea of whatever I remeber the ITTO of above processes.I used to practise this during practise exams.I just wrote this for my satisfaction and I will be happy to see that mentally I know 76% PMBOK.

As far as questions are concerned ,everything in PMP exam revolves around ITTO.What comes in ,What tools you use to produce the Outputs and these outputs will be inputs to some other processes. You will see the lengthy and wordy question and at the end ,one has to understand which process group is he talking about, which processs ,which KA and ITTO.

Everybody prep is different and so is mine. This helped me and the final result I am highly delighted.

I also came up with my own notes(in MS word - 72 pages ) that was a bit organised rather than writing on A4 sheets /Notebooks.

Thanks
