One month remaining before 2nd attempt of PMP exam
Hi everyone,
I will be attempting my second time to pass the PMP exam. First time I got 2 Moderately prficiency (monitoring/contorlling and closing) and 3 below proficiency.
My experience in the first exam was going well until I realized my pace was way to slow. I was about 80 questions in after 2 hours and the panick started to kick in. I thought naturally, during the test that under pressure I would be more alert and would have a faster pace, instead my pace was slower and I was too cautious going through questions. I really felt comfortable with the content as I read RITA 3 times and PMBOK once. I honestly feel time management could have caused me to fail the exam, but then again, it could be the content. I could honestly say the questions didn't overwhelm me, so i'll stick to my story that it was time management.
My question to the rest of the community is, i'm about a month off, I would like to hear your suggestions and feedback around my study plan that I have set below.
- The areas that I failed (Initiating, Planning, and Executing) go through the PMBOK for each process in order.
- I also, don't want to neglect, monitoring and controlling and closing, so continue to play the rita mulchay game every day till the exam.
- PRACTICE EXAMS: I want to improve my TIMING of answering questions. So below are the key practice exams i'll be doing from today till the a day before the exam.
- SCORDO 18 LITE MOCK exams
- PM ZEZT 100 free account exam
- Oliver F. Lehmann 175 and 75 question (timed)
- PM challenge on PM.com (100 questions per sitting)
- RITA chapter exams (procurement, risk, quality, integration)
- J. LeRoyWard PMP PgMP,Ginger Levin (200Qs)
- I would love to hear your feedback. Also, i'll be interested in forming a study group following Eastern Standard Time (EST) who would like to talk through some mateiral, gain some feedback and achieve success together.
Thanks,
Jaineel

How to Cope With Failure in PMP Examination
Hi Jaineel,
Project Management Professional (PMP) is not an easy exam to attempt. Lasting for 4 hours, it has 200 multiple choice questions, of which one has to answer at least 106 correctly to qualify. The exam is designed to be extremely difficult so that only the best candidates can get the certification. This is the reason why PMP holds immense value and its certificate holders get paid handsomely.
Another interested fact put across by Project Management Institute (PMI) is that approximately 80 percent of PMP exam takers fail at their very first attempt. Though this revelation should prevent aspirants from getting disheartened with failure, it is not a good place to be in. Yes, handling of poor results and disappointment can get to even the best of candidates and make them lose their confidence.

Which areas are you tackling first? What are or which one are your wea areas? I'm working on notes after using Brainbok and if anyone wants to join I'd be happy to share.
