Cleared PMP Exam on 2/24 in first attempt .....
Hi Guys,
I am very happy to tell you that I cleared PMP exam this week. I got 4P,1MP. I was under tremendeous pressure for last few months. I had postponed all my commitments. Finally, I am relieved.
It was not an easy journey as we all know it needs a lot of commitment and regular study.
The person I consulted first told me that he studied for a night and passed PMP in first attempt and I believed him that time as I was a novice. Didn't even know PMBOK then. I was exploring before staring the preparation. Now I know how rediculous it was. You may also find people like this.
For me, it took 4 months of rigourous study along with work.
First I took skillsoft courses then I studied Rita Mulcahy. After all this, I studied PMBOK. I referred other books like Andy Crowe and Kim Heldman and videos like iZenbridge for more understanding. After all this I read PMBOK again.
After all the reading, I started taking tests and took all tests in Scordo, Ginger Levin, Rita End of Chapters, Andy Crowe End of Chapters, Kim Heldman End of Chapters, PM Study Mock, Oliver, Skillsoft MOCK, PMP Exam Cram, Simplilearn free practice tests,TechFAQ360,Tutorials Point,PMZilla 30Q,Rita's Simulator and Sean Whitaker Questions Book. I also installed Google play free MOCK test apps on my mobile so that I could use them at work.
My scores were 80-90% mostly in all tests except 76% in Oliver 175Q and 70% in Oliver 75Q, 65% in PMZilla 30Q.
PMP exam will need stamina. The first time I took a 4 hrs MOCK test, believe me, it was skillsoft 200Q, I got exhausted in 3.5 hrs, took a headache pill and slept 4 hrs after that test. My stamina was this poor. I practiced MOCK tests for couple of months and 2 day before the actual exam I took 2 MOCK tests back to back so I knew that my stamina had increased.
In actual test, they didn't allow me to take anything with me. Not even a hankey !.... The actual PMP exam questions were different than all the above MOCK tests but if you know the PMBOK very well, you can do those as well. I didn't get up till I finished all 200Q in 3 hrs 15 minutes. Then I took a 4 minute break to use restroom and looked at the questions I marked earlier. Finally 3 minutes before the end time, I had hit submit and .....My heart started beating so loudly...... AND GUYS, IT POPPED UP, CONGRATULATIONS....I literally had tears in my eyes. Tears of joy.
Do let me know if anyone needs any help. You can also mail me on yogeshsamadhia@gmail.com
I thank this forum for helping me pass the exam.
I have started preparing for the PMI-ACP so I will be regularly visiting this forum.
Thanks all. Thank you very much.

Please guide
Yog Sam,
Please tell topics in exam that you find little tricky or difficult. Also, what do you suggest the exam takers in future to take care while taking exam. I am taking PMP exam in few days.
Thanks.
I have few more questions:
1. In a control chart if we have come two causes "for process being out of control" and "seven consecutive points falling on one side of mean". then, what should be our priority to control first rule of seven issue or measurement fall outside of control imit.
Thanks,

I would say "seven
I would say "seven consecutive points falling on one side of mean" is a cause for investigation. Something doesn't look right.
When we have a data point exceeding the LCL and UCL. This is something clearly out of control and If the specification limits are also at LCL/UCL. Along with qulaity, It may not be acceptable to customer.
I will look into data point exceeding the LCL and UCL first and then investifate the cause of seven consecutive points falling on one side of mean.

The questions were all
The questions were all together different. I would say exam is not difficult, its not easy either. You will NOT see a question exactly similar to any of the book or mock exams you take BUT If you read properly and take many MOCK tests, you will think that ya, I've seen this concept somewhere.
I found that the questions required more thought process than what is in PMSTUDY and all other portals. For example, the night before the exam, I tool PMSTUDY test and got 88%. I finished the PMSTUDY exam in 2 hrs and I thought that I will be able to do the same in actual PMP exam as well. But I couldn't. In Initial 20-25 questions , I had to make more than half of those for review. It took me 3 hrs 15 minutes to complete all 200Q.
There were lot of questions from Change Control, Configuration Management, Quality Tools, 25-30 Math questions, 3-4 questions on Communication Channels. Math was my strong part. I got all of them.
I would suggest not going for exceptionally tough questions. rather focus on concepts. PMStudy was similar but as i said, you may need a little more thinking in those actual exam questions. Concentrate on Math. that's an easy way out.
