Generally a more structured approach is required for many people. Dumps will be helpful but you need to read pmbok5 , do mock tests, even read some popular books by other authors like rita, headfirst etc. to ensure you have a GOOD GRASP of the subject.

Thanks for your guidance!

I totally agree with Admin. You need to have a structured approach for preparing for the PMP Certification exam. In addition to the books mentioned, you may want to contact your local PMI Chapter and take a PMP Exam Prep course.
You will find many additional tips for preparing for the PMP Exam here:

Thank you so much! I would follow your advice.

Hi Kandi,
I agree with the others. This isn't your typical exam. You will need to know a lot of information from the PMBOK5, quality and human resource theories, and have sufficient experience to be able to match your experience to what PMI calls your experience. :)

A good introduction would be a simulated exam. I used http://www.pmstudy.com/PMP-Exam-Resources/freeSimulatedTest.asp They have a lot of material, free and otherwise. If you would like more information, please send me your email address.

Best of luck.

Hi Sandy,

Thank you so much for your support and advice. Please feel free to email me anything related to and helpful for PMP at kandi7848@gmail.com.
Again thank you so much in advance!

Dear Kandi,
If you think you will find the dump questions(which you practiced) on real PMP exam then that assumption is wrong. You should have a strong background over the process and how they interact. For this read PMBOK and watch videos from you tube.project management prepcast by Cornelius Fichtner.if you like visual learning this will help you. Use a good book like Rita, Andy crowe, or Sohel Akther .practice questions as much as possible. A good simulator (200 questions)will help you in managing the 4 hour exam.understanding the concepts is more importanat.

Hi Prakavi,

Thank you so much for your support and advice. Previously I was under the impression that dumps might help me. But now viewing all your comments, its like an eye opener. I changed my mind set. Will work hard, but have limited time. My exam is in Dec 13. I am trying to make use of two books PMBOK 5 edition and Rita Mulcahy 8 th edition and solve as many mocks as i can. Will those be enough ?
Please let me know.

Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Kandi

Dear Kandi,
Dont worry. you have ample time to prepare if you study regularly for 2 to 3 hours. In fact it is better to go through Rita to grab the concepts. if you are a PMI member go to "ereads" and try to solve the questions from Christopher Scrodo book. it will test your knowledge about the process and PMBOK.There are around 1000 questions. This will test your knowledge about process and changemnagement.Another recommendation is to subscribe to an App(apple&Android) called "pmpro". it costs you 10 bucks (us dollars) but really worth. Do not worry about ITTOS.Once you master the process and their flow you will be pretty comfortable with ITTOS.

Structure and a 360 view of Project Management on a global scale is necessary. PMStudy can help you with that with online courses as well as in class. They have mock exams you can purchase as well. They also help you understand what to dump. Good luck.

Thank you Frances for the information!

Hi Kandi,

Dumps will help you only to know the examination pattern. For PMP preparation it's better to choose any Online Self Learning or Classroom Training . They will provide all the information about PMP along with mock exams and sample questions. All the Best for your PMP Exam in Advance.

Thank you Poonam :). I am right going through Rita's 8th Edition and planning to go through the mock tests simultaneously so as to go good grip on the test questions and get used to the level of difficulty in the questions.

Please let me know if it is a good idea ?

Kandi.
