Yes, but I do not think that such data (from other knowledge areas) will be converted to information in the communication processes, as each knowledge area has it is own control process to do that, but when it comes to communication what type of data will be converted to information (it should be a pure communications data).
Lets look at Control Communication Process goal "Control Communications is the process of monitoring and controlling communications throughout the entire project life cycle to ensure the information needs of the project stakeholders are met."
Does it need , have team sent last week report to stakeholder ? who attended last week review meeting?
So this process will need such data which is generated by communication activities only.
You may like to check our video on WPD, WPI and WPR
Notice that WPD (documentation about the Deliverables) is an input to the M/C processes. In controlling, the WPD is processed and documented as WPI. For Communication, useful WPD could be % complete, other status reports, or any other data that would be useful to Stakeholders. Generally (not always), Communication relates to communicating with our external Stakeholders.
I disagree with you here, the %complete and other status reports are not the WPD that are input for control communications, they are input to be communicated but not to request changes to the communications plan,
Each knowledge area in general has its own control process and the %cost will be input for control cost and %time will be input for control schedule.
WPD for communications must be (are stakeholder communications needs met, is the information flowing as it should be ... Etc) which means a subjective type of judgement will be used here in this process to evaluate the need for change,

When it comes to control
When it comes to control communication process group you can view the input work performance data being used to produce work performance information.
This information will be used to communicate to the stakeholders
If you read the output "Work Performance Information" it will be more clear to you.

That is how I understood it, hope I am not wrong,

WPD
All of it as Control Communications is the process that gathers and integrates the variances to use in performance reports.
