Communication channel question

You have eight people in your project, and one more person will be joining next week. Once the new person joins, the number of communication channels will increase by:

(A) 0
(B) 8
(C) 12
(D) 20

I post this question because if i add myself (PM) to the project team, i cannot get the answer.
How to determine the question have to add myself (the PM) to the team size or not?

Here answer should be 8, the question does not say that 8 people does not include the PM. "You have 8 People in your Project" , is different from "You have a team of 8 people with you"

its prety simply.. if you count ur self then the asnwer would be 09 ( which is not there in Options ) and it you don't count urself then the asnwer wud be 08 ( which is there in options ) so... the correct answer is 08.
