About my study ...
- Didn’t read PMBOK. Read only Rita’s book because this was easy to read and clear the concepts.
- Took only one full length test.. Oliver.. Completed all exercise of Rita’s book.
- ITTO.. It was impossible for me to memorize. And looking at PMP real questions I don’t think ITTO needs to be remembered. You just need to understand them logically.
- Just understand the concepts.. no need to memorize anything (not even EVM formula etc).. Understand the details of all tools and techniques. This is exactly what is needed by PMI.
Key Item to understand.
- While looking at the questions I marked wrong during Rita’s test and Oliver’s test.. I realized that 50% of them I could have marked correctly had I read and understood question properly (without any pre conceived notion).
- FOCUS and cool mind is the key to clear the exam. Once you have a cool mind then only you will be able to read and understand real question. This is the key to success.
- Keep smiling.. sit relaxed and answer question in a relaxed manner.. this is the key to clear PMP.
- Do take 5 minute breaks after 1/1.5 hour. This will help you to remain focused.
Note about online exam at prometric center..
- A single click on the answer/choice marks it.. if you again click on the answer then it unmarks it and question remains unanswered.
- I completed all 200 question with 20 mins remaining (took 2, 5 mins break in between). While reviewing the answers I saw that it is showing 5-6 questions as unanswered. Went through the question again and answered them quickly.
- Review questions and ensure that it is showing as all question answered.
I will be among very few to have attempted PMP without reading even a single chapter from PMBOK.. .. Take only applicable points from my LL (Lessons learnt).
This group helped to clear my lot of doubts on tools & techniques.
