pls explain this
Question :
When checking the calendar of a team member to schedule a meeting, you see she has scheduled a meeting with a key stakeholder that you were not informed of. The best approach would be to:
A. avoid mentioning it to the team member but continue to watch her activities.
B. notify your boss about the problem.
C. address the concern with the team member's boss.
D. address the concern with the team member.
Answer D
================================================
Apparently the given answer is correct. But tell me why the answer of “A” is wrong? As a matured and tricky PM cant you wait sometime and keep your eye on him to understand what’s going on. May be the thing he did, good for the entire project. so if you question him at once he may feel uneasy and it might be a disadvantage for the project ultimately, im I wrong ????

The qualities of a PM
The qualities of a PM mentioned by you are not recognized. A PM must be pro-active and use the right approach to address the concern with the team member.

Professional Responsibility
This is a really great question that demonstrates the need to be Pro-Active verses Re-Active! Had you chose A you would have created a situation with your team of distrust and of being Re-Active. Choosing D is being Pro-Active as you are finding a solution to the issues by Confronting the team member vs going behind their back. By confronting you can determine if the team member left you out intentionally or by accident and resolve the issue.
Re-Active answers will never be correct ways to deal with conflict.

Ethics?
Although this question is related to conflict resolution and you should confront the concern head-on to resolve it, a bigger concern could be ethical. The first 3 options seem unethical.
