Cleared my PMP!!
Hi All, Wanted to share some success secrets lessons learned out of my try in PMP..
How I prepared:
1.First week completly PMBOK 5
2.Second week Rita and Head First: to be frank I liked Head first for kind of pictured memory, if you like to remember pictures than text please go for Head first for procurement, risk and kind of mathetical questions in EVM,CPM
3. Third week back again to PMBOK, understanding each process of PMBOK 5
4.Fourth week, solved questions from internet. Don't keep attempting all the exams that you see in the internet. Look for the exams which are only close to PMBOK 5 because there are lot of changes in PMBOK 5 compared to 4.
5. Practiced more questions on Mathetical formulas and atempted few mock test not for a strech of 4 hrs as I am little lazy to sit for 4 hrs. I liked thePmstudy and examcentral which are very close to PMBOK5.
6. Back to PMBOK 5 to fill my gaps based on the mock test I have attemped. This time I made a note on critical things.
IMP: Concentrate more on Tuckkman ladder, EVM, Quality tools, quality process inputs/outputs
The day of exam: little nervous as it is a costly effort. I refered my notes prepared on week 6. Beleive me first 20 questions drives your will power. So your luck is dependant on the first 20 questions. I am lucky, so after first 20 questions I came to know my future that I will crack the exam. I have finished my exam in 3 hrs and then crossed my fingures ..there it comes CONGRATULATIONS |||
Exam pattern: I guess the code of ethics has been moved out from pmbok 5 ( others can confirm on this )..more questions on EVM..but beleive me the closing phase is always a night mare because they depend on the sequence where we will not get any reference.. may be Rita's process chart will help on this.
Hope to see more PMP guys...I wish you all the best of luck...
