Hi,
I am planning to take the PMP exam by end of December.
do I need to purchase the Rita Mulchy 8th Version?
Is PMBOK5th + Rita Mulchy 7th Version sufficient to clear PMP?
Please help me.

Try out PMstudy online course
Hi,
Rita is a good reference book but I personally thought that at times it just scares you rather than trying to make it simple and helps you build confidence. Again I must add that this is my personal thought. Not sure whether you had checked PMstudy (www.PMstudy.com) as they provide online courses which simplifies PMBOK which makes it easy to understand. Further, they have good pracice tests which tests your understanding. They also conduct classroom programs. You can check them out. There are other provides also who do provide online courses but from my expeirence PMstudy was a good investment. You can make up your mind..just wanted to provide my 2 cents. All the best for your preparation and for the PMP exam.

Guess it's better to get hold
Guess it's better to get hold of Rita's v8 to go along with PMBOK V since the newly added Processes wouldn't be referenced in Rita's older books.

Yes, Sufficient
Dear Sundar,
I am having the copy of Rita 7 and Rita 8. When i compare first 3 chapters in Rita 7 and 8, I found
1) There is no change in the Questions. They are same.
2) Plan ---- process is added from scope to Procurement. But it is already covered in Rita 7, saying that the plan (schedule management plan for ex) is created during Develop Project Manament plan process. Just understand that there is a planning process in the new version to create that plan. Thats is it.
3) Stake Holder Management chapter is added.
I read Time Management yesterday and compared that chapter between Rita 7 and 8, i dont find difference except the Plan process. I mean logically they are same.
if you compare para by para, yes there is a difference. (otherwise who will buy the new book?). They added some points to the existing one. But they are not very important and you will not miss a qsn because of that.
I already highlighted my Rita 7 book with marker. I hate doing the whole the Rita 8 book again, as it will take time. so i just refer the planning procees in Rita 8 and for the rest i use Rita 7. I will do the qsn behind in Rita 7. Once i took the full mock exam i will check the gap in PMBOK and update.
Please understand that, Rita or PMBOK is not changed totally in the new version. One KA (Stake holder management) is added, Some Procees are renamed and few are moved to new location. Please check this pdf it will give you a good idea of what is changed in new version.
http://www.sts.ch/documents/english/Doc_7037E_Comparing_PMBOK_and_ISO_v1-1.pdf
So my advice is, please go through Rita 7 and Pmbok 5 and finish them for atleast 2 times. Then you do some free mock tests and find out the gaps and fix it using Pmbok 5. If you are not confident after that also, you can buy the Rita 8.

i started prepating for
i started prepating for pmbok4 version exam, was reading pmbok4 and Rita7.
but unable to schedule my exam before pmbok4 expires.
later i started again prepating for exam with Pmbok5 and refer Rita7, and cleared exam.
from my understanding referring Rita7 is enough.
PMBOK5 book is very good, and very well written, easy to understand compare to PMBOK4.
again everybody as different views.
