What is the difference between Gold Plating and Value adds to Client ?

Please share your inputs on difference between Gold Plating and Value Adds to customer with example (if possible).

Any value add if against the scope is Glod Plating. PMBoK doesnt encourage Glod Plating. The term "Value Add" is not an official word in PMBoK.


You can do Value Add to customer by suggesting a better way of doing the same thing, giving good proposals. Once customer agrees to your suggestion/changes, raise change request and then do the change.
