Passed the PIMP exam last week and what I think really works

OK. Let's not brag. I did study but not too hard though. Not the shining 5Ps you are thinking. But who cares? Now people can call me PIMP! Sorry, without the I :-)

What I want to share are just two things:

A. Always get the big picture. It's great to memorize the process map by heart. But it's not the end of the world if you cannot. It's more about understanding PMBOK as a whole. Am I going to be stressed if I just couldn't figure out fixed price incentive? Heck no. Just take a guess and continue. One Q is only 1 of 200.

B. Practice adequately but not too much. Focus on what you can do, not what you cannot do. Don't waste time on those "super-hard" stupid questions. Make sure you don't miss the points you deserve (esp. the easy ones).

Yes, it is necessary to go thru PMBOK slowly once or twice. That's the only thing you need to do (everything else doesn't matter). I did buy the "PMP Guaranteed" e-book from Amazon after reading one of the posts here last month. It was quite cheap but extremely helpful for this purpose.

Lastly I will think if you know the material, it is more important to stay fresh for the exam. But for those who still want to practice 20+ mock exams, go and knock yourself out.

Don't worry. Everything will be fine... Good luck to everyone out there sweating.

 Hi,

What all mocks did you appear for and what were the scores?
