Need your thoughts
Submitted by abishek10 on Tue, 07/23/2013 - 22:29
- I have been using the Rajesh notes to revise and understand all the concepts and in paralleling with PMBOK. AM not still 100% after my first time.
- All the tests have taken so far, I am getting less than 60% and am working hard on the topics that I failed badly.
RIta fast track 58%
Pm Study 4 - 59%
Super PMP - 56%
Skill soft - 59%
Oreilly - 57%
Can anyone give me advise on how can I understand and memorize all the topics that will help me solving and able to pass the exam.
Thanks in advance.

My thoughts are to look at
My thoughts are to look at the areas you are not understanding now. I would recommend purchasing Rita Mulcahy's book and go over those areas first. Then work back over those you get. Overall, the test is 1/3 math, 1/3 inputs/outputs/tools, and 1/3 PMI ism. You pick-up the PMI isms from Rita's book or any training class that go over the art/science of PM. For example, when handed a scope change from a new Stakeholder and told to deliver with all other scope. Does the PM: Issue a Change Control; Tell the team to get coding (OK, I am an IT PM); Look for impacts?; Provide Options? This is an example of knowing the PMI isms, I picked them up from reading Rita's book. Here is my lesson learned with passing PMP and hope you will find it helpful.

Relax, see which process group you are missing and keep reading! Good luck and yes you can pass this.

Suggestion
Take Scordo exams 12-18. This will be an eye opener on the gaps in PMBOK you are yet to cover.
Do not get depressed, the scores may not look good. Rather use that to see which are the parts you might have skimmed through.
See if that helps you. I am pretty sure it should.

Hi,I agree with avonag's
Hi,
I agree with avonag's comments - Scrodo's Lite Mock Exams [compilations of 50 questions each] is a definite eye opener as the questions are relatively tricky and it worked flawlessly for me on identifying my gaps on my weak areas like HR and Communications.
Do give a try and if you're running out of time, i would suggest you take up Lite Test 15-18 at one go and evaluate your marked and wrong answers.
Good luck!

spend more time with PMBOK and more practice question until score is close or above to 70
