PMP Failed 1st Attempt 23/7/13 - Bitter Exp
Score :
Initiating : MP
Planning : MP
Executing : BP
M & C: BP
Closing : MP
Numericals were very simple. During exam i got confused with certain processes in M & C which made this mess.
I had my exam in Gurgaon (India), i had my exam on 12:30 am but i reached 10:30 am, their security didn't even allowed me to enter their premises before 12:00 am. Hence i was forced to stand outside at 40 degree temp in the sun for 2 hours which also put some oil in the fire.
I m really frustrated now, i lost two big exams since past two months - First RHCE, now PMP. The thing which adds to the frustration is that there is now pmbok 5th edition. So, i think i would be able to give exam only next year.
Now i am goiing for CCIE lab in Nov month and i will commit suicide if i lost that one.

Please do not give UP!
I know the feeling and probably we all do. This is your first reaction after working so hard and not clearing it. Give yourself some time and prepare yourself for this and clear it.
I myself have decided if I fail I shall keep doing it again and again and again and again till I m successful and get this certified.
Take a break, spend some time with family/friends - when u think u ready for the grind again......buckle up and go for it again, I am sure U will succeed.

Sailing in too many boats!
Hello Jethalal,
Frustraiton is inevitable and commiting sucide is not a solution... I feel that you are sailing in too many boats at the same time and strongly believe that you should concentrate on one of the certifications at a time as all the certifications are all very difficult.
PMBOK5 has few additional topics but the basics are the same i.e. how to manage a project (isn't it?) so dont give up and go for it my friend!
Good Luck!
A PMP aspirant :o)

Failure is part of life
Failure is part of life buddy and I think everyone of us fails in some or the other area of life but that does not mean we give up on our life....we need to get back to our feet again and fight back and WIN!!!
Failure teaches you alot of things, which can be taken in a positive way for your fight back!! Also I think you are trying to take too many exams in a year...try to plan sufficient time for each exam and there is lot of information on this site for PMP preparation plan...use them and fight back
All the best and buckle up for your next stint!!

There is nothing to be bitter about!
i agree with someone here that mentioned you are taking too many exam at the same time. PMP is not something you just read , memorize & pass type of exam.
You need to put passion & hard work to pass , love the subject like how you would love someone & not think of others. Take 1 step at a time ,stay focus on learning new things rather than carrying the thoughts that you need to pass this exam for the sake of carrying the extra title so that you're more marketable. The title doesnt mean anything at all , if you fail real world projects.
Personally , i waited almost 5 years before i told myself i'm ready to sit for the exam despite X # of years of experience in PM. We knew in reality if you are not handling big projects you would not have the opportunity to see the end to end of PM , which leaves us with alot of gaps in our knowledge that leave learning these gaps interesting. Carry that thought , pass or fail does not matter , the take away from the experience is what matters , passing the exam would just be the added value.
For the exam , read the LL here & stayed inspire & positive , PMP is NOT an easy exam to pass , there are many that have passed after a few tries. Trials & challenges are just part n parcel of life in reality , just dont just give up so easily.

Man! Is this a reason for suicide. You got to be kidding me.
PMP is a tough exams and academics toppers have gone down here. This requires a lot of dedication AS WELL AS luck. For most questions, it comes down to 50-50%, given two alternatives are always confusing. So a lot matters on the rest.
I will suggest, do not flip-flop between exams. At least that does not work for PMP. Focus on it, take as many mock tests. Anything above 3000 questions and see where you stand in the mock tests. When you are near to scoring 75-80% in mock tests, you can consider yourself ready.
Dont lose heart, you can do it. All the best.
