Exam Nearing - pls advice...

can you help with answer for below, i believe (b) is correct answer, any views?

During planning processes, you used Monte Carlo simulation to quantitatively assess cost and schedule risks of your project. During risk control, you repeat the technique, and it leads to different results. What should not be the reason for that?

o Some assumptions during planning have meanwhile become fact-based knowledge, so that the risks related to them have vanished or have become certain problems.
o New risks may have been identified. These influence the input data used for Monte Carlo simulation in a way which was not predictable at the time when the simulation was run.
o Some constraints have been identified originally, but their influence on the project was unclear when the simulation was run for the first time. By now, the team understands these constraints much better and has been able to adjust the simulation.
o Some dummy activities in the network logic have an element of uncertainty, which gets bigger over time. While the project proceeds, it gets even harder to predict how the team members assigned to them will perform.

answer should be choice 4 as dummy activities dont have any work assigned

whats the answer?

yes, answer is 4.  can you tell why pls?

As I mentioned in my above reply..dummy activities do not have work assigned to them..so there is no question of risk associated with them and nor you need to monitor or control them and question is asking which is NOT right

hope this helps

if they are dummy activities, why are they initally considered in the M-C Analysis, cant they be ignored then?

The questions asks "What should NOT be the reason for that?", so you need to look for answers which won't lead to different results of analysis and choice 4 would be the answer for that

And question does not say anything about dummy activities and they would not have been considered in initial run as well...if you do not have data or work, then you cannot measure it....right?

Hope this helps to clarify you question

Ofcourse, it does..Thanks

you nailed it as you did the PMP exam(which i just learnt) Congrads on that!

 Thanks Karthik!!

Let me know when you give your exam!

All the best!

Hi ppalkonda

My exam is on Thursday... Jul 25th and i lost chance of changes!

I have given below tests

techfaq360 (easier) - 85%

Exam central (easier)- 80%

Scordo 17 & 18 - around 70%

PMP For Sure - 68%

OL 75 & OL 175 - both 72%

i am planning to attempt the below before exam,

Effective PMC 200q mock exam

Simplilearn 200q mock

Edwel(iwebexam) mock test

Scordo - 13 - 16

can anyone suggest the correct order to attempt based on importance please?

Thanks

Attempted the Effective PMC 200 situational questions....i could attempt only 190 and failed very badly :-(

Now, i am feeling i am not ready for the exam....

Pls advice if i should take the Simplilearn or Edwel mock tests or just concentrate on gaps as my exam is day after tomorrow...

thanks

Once you get PMStudy scores then you will know better about your preparation....let me know your results...as of now you are doing okay

 Karthik

I did not see PMStudy in your list of mock tests, I know it is paid but I would suggest you to take at least 2 PMStudy exams of 200 questions...I think this is important and comes at the top of the list

second I would go with Simplilearn. I have not taken PMC or Edwel...I did do Scordo but felt easy and did not finish other chapters...it is good for concepts but not tough

All the best

I would suggest PMstudy tests too. Go through it am sure it will ne helpful.

Thanks both, I have to count them from my second attempt... :-(

Just revising with Abhishek's and Rofa's Notes...

Good Luck to me!
