the idea of resource leveling is to decrease schedule not to make it longer

Resource leveling will put cap on how many resource you can use each day/week/month. For example, you plan 8 recourses in first week and 5 in next week and so forth. Now you have to use 5 6 resources through out. It will take longer time to get same work.
