Passed PMP on 27th June 2013

PMzillians......First of all i would like to thank you all for your expert guidance. I will admit that i have not used this forum much but whatever i have reffered was fromt hsi forum. So i just thought of sharing my experince.

I passed the PMP with 3 P's and 2 MP's on 27th June 2013.

Here was my preperation path:

-->PMChamp (Introduction + 35 Contact hours)

-->PMBOK 4th Edition

-->Rita Book..One full reading

-->PMBOK 4th Edition 2nd Revision

-->Rita Book 2nd revision

-->Had memorized ITTO's completely. Though people don't suggest that, 10 Questions were starighforward answerd by that meorization.

-->Bought Difficult PMP Exam Questions: Extra Practice on the Hard Questions

Glenn Hostetler and McGraw-Hill's PMP Certification Mathematics with CD-ROM

Subramanian, Vidya from Amazon

--> Completed

PMP Exam Prep Questions, Answers, & Explanations: 1000+ PMP Practice Questions with Detailed Solutionsby Christopher Scordo

--> PMBok 4th Edition 3rd revision

--> Had not taken any full length exam until the day before the exam. I took Free PMStudy on 26th night and completed one round 76% in 2 gours and was confident of the test.

Exam was 20% tougher than PMStudy free TEST. Took 3 Hr 15 Min for the test. Another 30 Min for review.

There were 10-15 Formula questions that were ok...Should have scored in all of them.....Many mnay questions from HR and communication Mgmt like conflict management...Team development stages....Somwhat confusing....

All the best for your exam...Let me know if you have any further questions.

Congratulations

 Hi,

Congratulations.

Can you advise if the actual exam questions were towards a tougher level than all of the online practice tests available online like examcentral, oliver lehmann, PM guide etc.

Also, do the calculations questions involved lot of calculations or were tricky ?

Any other suggestion for exam preparation. I am taking test in July end and have started practicing questions.

Thank you so much for your help.

 Yes, the questions were tougher. 30% tougher than the PMStudy tests. The formula questions were tricky but doable. They really help you score as there were 101-5 questions. Some of them were pretty straightforward. Lots and Lots of questions on Procurment management and HR Management especially conflict resolution techniques. I remember 4-5 of them and they are indeed tricky.
