Evaluation of change request on scope/cost/time - Which process?

Request if anybody can help with this.

Qestion - If there is a change request, the first step is generally, to assess the impact it can have on schedule, scope and other constraints. This activity is part of a) Perform Integrated change control (that approves/rejects change requests)  b) Monitor & Control Work?

Since change requests are sent to a) I feel that is the correct answer. Please help.

Yes, A is the correct answer

What is the confusion, it is Perform Integrated Change control & Monitor & Control work is about performance measurement agaisnt the performance baselines.

I saw a different interpretation in the mock tests which point out to b). Thanks for confirming.

The correct answer shall be b). The reason is Monitor and Control is to measure, analyze and recommend changes. In order to recommend one need to analyze the impact. Once recommended, it is taken for approval thru Perform Integrated Change Control.

Yeah I agree with answer B,because first of all we will analyse the impact and if needed will go for Perform Integrated change control. This we can understand from Rita's PMP exam prep.Integration management chapter.

Will the answer to the original question change depending on the source of the change request  - internal source vs external source?

(PMBOK seems to elaborate on internal change requests only, such as those for error correction, risk response or performance improvement.)

Can someone pls explain the change request handling process if the change request comes from an external source such as the customer wanting to add some new features to the product?

Thanks.
