PMBOK 5th Edition

 Hi Guys,

I am planning to write my 2nd attempt PMP exam on October 2013. So I already have taken my exam with 4th edition and after july it will be changed to  PMBOK 5th Edition. So i am really on an doubt that what will be the difference in that compare to 4th and 5th edtion and what are the advantages that may help me to prepare with PMBOK 5th edition.

I am so doubtful to prepare with the PMBOK 5th edition. kindly anyone advice me how to prepare for PMBOK 5th edition.?

Cheers

Dude, as you know that most of the PMP exam will be testing your conceptual knowledge of your project management concepts with situation questions. Honestly, it does not matter much if you move some paragraph and keep it under a new knowledge area or a new process group. The common sense associated with it along with the story it tells, remains the same. I do not see anything significant that has changed with PMBOK 5, they have just repeated and swapped some paragraph here and there.

I feel, you can even pass PMP exam with PMPBOK-4 after 31st July. If you have understood, conceptual PMP concepts, book will not matter much.

yes there are minor differences and addition of stakeholder managemnet process.  So better start using 5th edition for preparation. As Saket said concepts would still remain same.

There is a Good amount of difference  especially in terms if Stakeholder Management. Also there are few more explicit planning processes  introduced.

I will soon update  the PPT here
