Lessons Learned -- 18JUN (failed)
My fist attempted I failed my PMP exam. The failure hit me pretty hard but I had to shake it off and stay positive with my future plans.
IN - BP
PL - BP
EX - BP
MC - BP
CL - MP
- The first 100 exam questions were really easy (seem that way); one to two sentences in length
- Reading the glossary was a great help; know all PMP terms from the PMBOK guide
- At question 150 i had 30 minutes to go; really hate that I had to rush
- References used: PMBOK 4th Edition, RITA v7 prep book, RITAs Flashcard, Crosswind online questions
- RITA's PMP® Exam Prep Online, Seventh Edition in my opinion was not that helpful; thought this would have been my winning ticket
- PMBOK 4th Edition was proving to be a better reference for me during the end of my studies; should have picked it up sooner
- The last 3 months have been extremely challenge trying to study and manage the day to day with family and work
- My weekends I was able to spend at a minimum of 8 hours studying (Library)
- Listen to Kim Heldman's PMP audio almost everyday to and from work
- I tried to utilized the Skillsoft computer base training but it was really slow and boring.
- Rajesh Nair Notes were VERY helpful
- ITTO's there were not a lot of questions from this but its sooo important that its understood
- RAGA 355 notes is a great list of key items - http://quizlet.com/17902515/ragas-355-points-flash-cards/
- Didn't complete ques and answers from the RITA v7 prep guide
BLUF: I'm done trying to cram for this exam (3 months preparation) I'm going forward I plan to take a course with Villanova and then retake my exam (PMBOK 5th Edition)
This forum is awesome and I really appreciate all of the feedback and lesson learns that people share.

Hard Luck and Better Luck for
Hard Luck and Better Luck for 5th Edition.
Looking at your LL, it seems like you haven't tried the mock tests at all. I think that would be one of other best option for your time management, managing your stress and understanding your level, where do you stand and judge for yourself. Take at least 4 to6 Mock tests from PM study and other.

HeadFirst Exam
- I took the HeadFirst Exam 200 and got a 65 on the exam it took me 4 hours to do so.
- Did some of the chapter questions from RITA and scored between 60-75%
My major issue was managing the STRESS as I studied more the more I was learning and the more I begin to learn quickly i realize that I wasn't as prepared for this exam as I thought.

Head first is quite an easy
Head first is quite an easy exam compared to the other mock ones , try scoring at least 75% & above. If you don't , try to revised the wrong questions & understanding where your gaps , even the right ones which you are not sure 100% sure , try to revisit them again. This i found is the best way to fill the gaps.
I was using Rita as my primary book , if you run thru all the exercises at the end of each chapters & play along every single exercises , you should be able grasp a lot. There is NO shortcut.

& btw , for Rita's chapter
& btw , for Rita's chapter questions , i did 3 passes , i kept a track records to see how i did for every passes to gauge if i'm improving which normally you should be doing better than before , if not means you have not fully understood the whole concept of that chapter & requires further research & practice.

There is also the Rita
There is also the Rita process games , what i did was , i cut out all the processes & from time to time play the process games by arranging them into the order. Played the game at least 4 times to finally get it right.
