Passed PMP on Oct 7

Hi all,

I'm a quite member of this forum and this is the time that I should post something.

First of all, thanks for this excellent forum, esp with Lesson Learnt forum, from which I learnt a lot.

I passed the PMP exam yesterday with 2 proficiency in Planning and Executing, MP on the rest. below is some of my experience and LL:

35 PDUs: using Simplilearn as it is the cheapest one. Found it quite simple and cover not all the knowledge.

Study: I chose to go with Rita and PMBOK chapter by chapter, back-to-back: 1 Rita followed with 1 PMBOK and Rita FASTRACK. After that, pratise all KA in Rita FASTRACK. Finally, PMBOK and Rita, back-to-back one more time. Total time for reading is around 2 months.

Practice: all free available mocks labs on internet, Rita FASTRACK.

+ Headfirst: 89% on first try, easy but good, made me confident :)

+ PMStudy: 77% for the free exam, quite close to the exam difficult level, very good one.

+ Simplearn: 72% with the test included on the course. 75% for the free one.

+ Edwel: 71%, hard but recommend.

   + Oliver H 75: 65% :(... difficult

   + PMzilla 25 free Q: 56% :(... harder than the real exam.

+Fastrack : PMP: 77%, super PMP: 71% (I found that the real test is not wordy as super PMP, but should try)

+ all other free questions... IMO, if you scored over 70% for all the new questions, you should be OK with the real test.

Exam:  as I'm quite familiar with a looonggg exam (8 hours long for CCIE) so for me, 4 hours is not a big problem. Tried to cram as much as I can from the note created with all 42 process ITTO on the night before the test. Slept 8 full hours :D. The real test is not so difficult, if you well study and prepare, you should be OK with the test. Most of the questions are scenario and 4 to 5 lines, some are very straight forward with direct quote from PMBOK for the ITTO. I did use first 15 mins of survey for cram the 42 processes and it helped me with at least 5 questions. Formulary questions are very simple. Compeled all 200 questions on 3 hours with reviewed to marked questions (40 questions). I tried to review all the questions but  after 40 mins, found that I did change only 1 question for the 1st 100 so decided to submit. Bump.... CONGRAT :).

Believe me, the exam is not difficult.

Thanks,

Khoa

congrats lak on clearing the PMP exam,

Hi, how many questions aprox for ITTO? Some have written in the LL that are few, others than many, I have a friend who presented  in May and told me he received more than 50 questions in ITTO, I don't know if is true or not.

I don't think I had that many questions but one think which I would stress on is understanding the concepts. I did not memorize ITTO but still I could attempt all ITTO questions. You need to have clear understanding as the questions are not direct but indirect and sometimes distracting.
