My Journey

Wohhhh, Ufff, finally passed PMP exam after long sweating and long tensed journey. Not sure if my LL will be motivational for anyone here as I have been preparing and thinking for PMP exam for over 2 years.  Last year (early Jan) I took PMP workshop and since then my hands and brain did not agree and allowed me to give the exam until 2 days before. Finally, yesterday without listening to my confused brains and de-motivating hands I gave the exam and passed with 4P and 1MP. Not that bad either!

Books Read –
PMBOK – Not sure how many times and how many days (even some years), but this one is your PMP passing guide.
Andy – Sure I read 2 times and many quick pages look back since this long duration.
Rita – Almost same like above
Headfirst – Just read once and couple of time flashback
I am sure, I must have read more books/notes, but I cannot recall, moreover I don’t want to recall.

Mock Test –
Since last year I am attempting mock test available across and today I can conclude, NO mock test is close to the PMP exam. PMP exam is totally different, clean, with all quality questions. In reality, when we people score good in mock test, we call it good (if we pass PMP exam) and criticize all for other reasons. However, I would definitely comment on these mock tests that can help you exam preparations:
Rita Fast Track – Superb especially quality questions, good explanations, tricks and long situational questions
PMStudy – Must try, but this is a scoring exam and PMP exam is tougher than this
Christopher Scordo – Must try, close, and this is good for IITO
PMPforSure – Excellent and on slight tougher side
Frank T Anbari – must try
Simpli Learn – must try
Edwel – must try
Oliver Lehmann – Little tough, must try
PMZilla tough questions – Excellent, low scoring and must try
I again repeat - NO mock test is close to the PMP exam. Keep benchmark of 70% or more in mock test.

Last moment revision-
In my case the last moment revision notes were applicable for an year since I have been looking these since a year. However I would like to recommend - Abhishek's Version - Rajesh Nair PMP Notes. The PMBOK summery pages are wonderful quick recap pages.

I am happy today and over excited, but I would pray that no one should have so long journey. PMP exam is not that tough and 3-4 months is sufficient enough. Please do not fear, just go and give the PMP exam.

Best wishes and Regards,
Neelabh
