Dependency determination

1) An example of a mandatory dependency, as opposed to a discretionary dependency, is:
A. Project A, the company’s participation in a pump industry trade show, depends on the successful
completion of Project B, which is building the prototype pump that is going to be displayed.
B. To start design only after completion and approval of all project requirements.
C. For the shrink-wrapping on the finished box of software to depend on enclosing the manual
and software first.
D. To schedule the final testing activity of a new computer model to start seventy-two hours
after the start of the mandatory seventy-two hour ‘‘burn-in’’ period.
Please provide justification on ur answer
2) When a project is terminated, to document the level and extent of completion, the PM should carry out which process?
Verify scope process (or) Close project or phase?
I see discrepancies in different mocks on this. Any pointers to this in pmbok would be of great help!

IMO Q 1 C A -- it is an
IMO
Q 1 C
A -- it is an project A can be started, its success is only depend on project B, it is an example of dis dep., at any comfortable time it can be drought to the show.
B -- all project requirement is not needed for designing activities.
D --- it may be flexible , few testing may parallely can be done.--- they are just scheduling, complsion is not implied.
Q 2 CLOSE PROJECT -- see all terminate related -- articles of pmbok. in verify scope only deliverables varified but to document in level and extend of completion -- means measuring finally with PMP. P99./P101

Thanks!
Your answer to first Q, made sense...Earlier i was in doubt since source ans was B..
Second Q, I was also in favor of "Close project or phase", but some mocks were misleading me to "Verify scope"..
Thanks a lot!

Mr Pawar, can you explain
Mr Pawar, can you explain option A again. Request you not to cite the requisite PMBOK section as I am already aware of the definitions. Would appreciate a detailed response.
My line of thought: Project A cannot be started unless project B is completed successfuly. i.e. you must design the prototype first to be able to go to the trade show. Therefore, isn't it a mandatory dependency?
Thanks.
