finding EV, when CPI and AC are given.

Hi All,
I have a rather basic question that I hope someone can help me out with.
What is the Algebraic rule for finding the "unknown" value in a question. For Instance,
The question gives both the CPI and AC and asks for EV. Would that be AC x CPI ? For some reason,
this is eluding my Brain today. Also; Given is CV and AC, find EV. is that CV/AC ?
I know its basic math, Just not sure about the routines,
Thanks to all in Advance!

Refer below mentioned
Refer below mentioned formulas:-
So, your first point is correct...EV=CPI x AC
However, there is a correction in your second point.....EV= CV + AC
