Q. EAC vs ETC

During the course of the project, the project management team developed a forecast for the estimate at completion (EAC) based on the project performance. Which of the following statements about EAC is correct?

  1. Add a note hereAny of the above three approaches can be correct for any given project.

  2. Add a note hereThe EAC forecast is best estimated using the estimate to complete (ETC) work performed considering both SPI and CPI factors.

  3. Add a note hereThe EAC forecast is best estimated using the estimate to complete (ETC) work performed at the present CPI.

  4. Add a note hereThe EAC forecast is best estimated using the estimate to complete (ETC) work performed at the budgeted rate.

Will go with B on this one, as it says the EAC forecast was based on (ongoing) project performance, so current CPI and SPI should have been used in the formula.

But that's just my guess, and I could be way off...

answer in test:

A  - Any of the above three approaches can be correct for a given project, and will provide the project management team with an "early warning" signal if the EAC forecasts are not within acceptable tolerances. [Refer PMBOK 4th Edition, page 185] [Project Cost Management]
