Please guide me

Dear Members,

I am from Abu Dhabi. I am planning to do PMP and ordered PMBOK 5th edition. Please advise me how to proceed.

Hi,

You have to study 4th edition now until July 31st after which 5th edition will be effective.

I think you can join some coaching class in Abu Dhabi to start with,

I am bit confused between online and classroom. I followed up with few companies like AMIDEAST,Cambridge,PMstudy and all are advising to do the exam before 31st July.

Any idea if the exam is going to be tougher?

 it is a valid question.

pros and cons are there.

it depends on you how is your approach towords subject. Initially you may start with PMBOK 4 to sit before of 31st.

But very soon in 2 month (before of middle of April) , you have to assess that whether you can appear or it is tough to appear before of 31st. 

If not You may switch over to that new PMBOK 5.

There is difference definitely ---- IN every KA there are changes but 75 % -85% of part is the same.

Since you are new and proper guidance is required. You may touch first common areas of both books.

Why institutes are suggesting to sit before 31st?

Because at present they have very little or zero study material for PMBOK 5. And their old material can be used till that date.

If you are planning for PMBOK 5, It will be quite tough to get new books /mock tests for you also.

So better check yourself how you find yourself competent, it vary person to person. Also if you are PMI member - get help from there.

Thank you very much for your detailed reply. it is very helpful and I have decided to complete the exam before 31st July.

I found many good reviews about PMstudy in this blogs and many others, but not that much about any other providers in UAE.
As per my understanding PMstudy is based in US and they do not have any office in UAE, can I trust them?

 i think UAE based, institute , physically should be attended for start and 35 pdus.

later you may prepare by books HF/ANDY then RITA/PMBOK, then several mock tests.

i have no much idea about virtual study with PMSTUDY. But test sets are quite compitable.

Thank you very much. You are really helpful. Pmstudy do conduct physical PMP classroom programs in UAE, only thing is they do not have office here. Will it be fine to pay online?

PMSTUDY might be a good option, I would suggest you to go to Cambridge, I also earned my 35 PDU's from there

Dear SSpawar and Raza, finally I joined PMstudy. Hope I have made a right move. My course starts on next month, once it is over I will update you all.
