Reading book "several" times?
Most of the LL's that I have been reading since the past few months mention about reading the books several times - like PMBOK 4th - read 3 times and Rita 7th - read for 4 times, etc, etc. Is that for real guys?
I mean I have started reading Rita's book and am struggling to read 10 pages per day (after work and workout), at this pace it would take me months to finish reading that book once, forget about reading it several times... ugh.
Probably because the material is so dry, that I cannot just go beyond 10 pages, even if I try hard enough.
I have been in the industry for 10+ years now and this stuff is not new to me, rather it's my day-to-day task at work.
My question to all you friends is - How do you cope up with such a dry textbook? Do you watch Video's etc, etc?
I just learnt that PMBOK 5 is out and the exam will change pattern after 31st July 2013, so my goal would be to take the exam before that (based off of the PMBOK 4)
Congratulations to all you pass this tough exam. It needs a lot of dedication and commitment.

Try the book which is easy
Try the book which is easy for you to read. Online videos is a great way to start. Other way to get started is take your 35 contact hours training. After the training , reading these books will be much easy.
For visual people head first is a great book to get started.

First time reading is only tough
Hi,
Read headfirst once completely and do not worry even if u don get some terms.
Then read rita or pmbok and ull see the difference. Ur reading will be faster and ull understand easily what u r reading.

The content is really simple,
The content is really simple, as I mentioned earlier being in the Industry for 10+ years, Project Management is not new to me. What's new is the way how authors have made this subject boring and cumbersome.
I have decided to go with Rita and will stick with it now.
