A week to go ! request feedback from @sspawar

I have 6 days to go before my exam date, and request feedback from @sspawar

here's my latest progress ( in the past 1 week )

Scordo 16 - 86%

Scordo 17 - 88%

Scordo 18 - 83%

pmstudy (free) - 89%

pmpforsure (free 100) - 74% ( Moderately Prof in Execution, Prof in other 4 areas )

i've studied pmbok Scope, Time, Cost, Quality over last 1 week while giving these exams, and have covered Risk and Procurement from PMBOK earlier

Here's what i have in my plan for next 6 days

  • review wrong answers from pmpforsure, Scordo 16-18 , pmstudy
  • PMBOK HR , Communications, Risk & Procurement
  • Rita Fastrack Questions ( I have about 600-700 questions untouched )
  • Review Rita all chapters once
  • Glossary

I think this will cover up rest of 6 days before the exam, but would like suggestion from this forum on what are additional focus areas or additional tests i should take before my exam?

should i buy pmstudy 2,3 or 4?  or any from pmpforsure?

how is the difficulty of pmpforsure compared to actual exam?

i am not planning to try pmzilla difficult questions specially in the last 6 days before the exam, as i read some LLs talking about it impacting the confidence levels. any good suggestions to help discover gaps?

PMStudy really prepared me for my exam and highly recommend that you take as many exams as possible.  I went back and reviewed the chapters that I scored lower than 70% in at your point.  Each test was a learning experience.   I haven't tried the pmforsure, but the PMStudy was the closest to the exam.  When I took my exam the hardest questions were in the beginning, so keep calm thinking that easier ones will appear.

Good luck!

Amy

I would advise against taking any intensive full-length mock tests so close to the actual PMP. I think you've got it all covered in your own plan(esp. final scan through PMBOK/Rita/Glossary etc.).

God willing, if your performance in the mocks is of any indication, you'll sail through without a scare. Just keep up the faith and give it your best shot.

(Will wait for your LLs and apologize for attempting to steal the thunder from Pawarji :P)

thanks Amy and Diba. majority of inputs seem to suggest avoiding mock exams so close, i am planning  give my best shot in firming up all knowledge gathered so far., and focus on weak areas picked up from pmstudy free mock exam .

Amy - my weakest area from pmstudy (free) is Ethics around 76% . second weakest in HR around 82% ., rest of the areas clustered around 85% . Given this would you still advise a second mock from pmstudy? from the results of free test, i am planning to firm up HR and other areas from weakest to strongest in that order.

Diba , yes god willing :) thanks much for your words and encouragement.

am also planning to keep ethics questions away for review. hope that wont prove to be a wrong decision.

have heard of weightage for ethics has gone down since change of pattern and people dont see  much of them these days. let me know if thats okay.

I think you are ready to pass right now.  :)

I do better with looking at questions and then taking an exam.  Everyone has a different style of learning.  PMSTudy test 2-4 helped me a lot (they took around 4-5 hours to go thru for each one).  I actually took a test the day before the exam, but this doesn't work for everyone.   Just be careful not to take a test and ruin your confidence with a low score.  I would first go thru the flows in the PMBOK in each chapter and understand what happens in each process and what the ITTOs are. Also review the glossary.   As far as the ethics, the mocks test focus more on ethics than the actual exam (or so it appeared to me).

Good luck,

Amy
