schock .......what happen ):

hello all

I am preparing for the pmp with rita and the pmbok. Doing that since few months (2-3) I consider me today not ready for passing the exam but with a basic proof good understanding.

Up today I tried different test e.g. Rita, Oliver 75 and 175 questions and almost gained a quote btw 50 and 60% but today, I tried the 200 free simplilearn questions, stop by 100 and reviewed. I scored 19,5%. I am schocked !!!!!!!!!!!!!! never got such a miserable scoring even not with oliver its 175 questions which in my opinion are the most difficult ones (see my previous posting, score > 50 not answering mathematical questions).

Can someone help me? I am getting really disencourage now, what do I did wrong???

cheers

pietro

Hi Pietro. I passed the exam on November 2011 and I suggest for you to read the PMNinja post two days ago. Basically, I did the same thing as he did for about two months and passed the exam on my second try. By the way, I used PMStudy and as you, I kept scoring less when taking the simulated tests, but it helped me to practice a lot. Take different tests as much as you can after studying the books and guides, study the wrong questions and practice again. That is my advice. And once again, read PMNinja's post it's right on target. I wish you the best, MAMPMP.

Can you pass me this PMninja post link

Thanks a million

How about learning and not trying to simply passing a test?   Heart wins over superficial goals every time.

That is the goal: to learn.

I believe that while you study, read the books, guides and practice the simulated tests, you also learn a lot; then you pass the test, you get certified and are able to continue putting in practice on your projects all what you learned while studing to get certified and through experience.

@cf451, if you review my posting you will get the knows that I already gone through the rita/pmbok more than once thus such posting/comment are to me quite "stupid" and nothing saying at all !!

ps: show me someone who obtains results > 60% without studying at all

There are other posts in this forum suggesting studying paths (lessons learned which I try to review on a daily basis).  I am studying too..there is plenty of online support to learn.  Brainbok, PMtrend, and the study aides in this forum.  The Rita book/PMBok put me at about the same place where you are now.  I did go thru websites like Brainbok, examcentral, and re-read the PMBok.  I would highly recommend memorizing the 42 process chart mostly to understand them and how they flow.  Once I memorized them, it helped a lot.  I also memorized the formulas and know when to use them.  I also found that I need a break after every 50 questions.

Keep going!  It will get better..

 Good luck
