last activity in closure
I read somehwere in a blog that releasing resources is no longer the activity after Aug 2011 changes
Can someone please describe the last activity..the exact question is :
Your project is complete and you are performing project closure activities. In this context, what should you do LAST?
Choice 1 Creating final product, service, or result transition
Choice 2 Releasing project resources working on the project
Choice 3 Updating organizational process assets
Choice 4 Accepting deliverables
There are 2 more subtle doubts
Q 1 Does portfolios also include operations ..PMBOK says its relatd work only
PMstudy.com comments: Portfolio management includes projects, programs and related work (i.e. functional or operational work); so, this is the best answer.
q2 would pM and the team manage risks and implement risk response activities in execution phase ? i believe there are no activities related to Risk in Execution Process group

Releasing project resources...
If any authentic PMP blogs says this “releasing resources is no longer the activity after Aug 2011 changes” please blacklist this blog in your mind (never in public). PMBOK-4 has not changed with August 2011 changes.
The answer for your first question should ideally be “Releasing project resources working on the project”. Releasing project resources is done at last as you (as a PM) need resources to carry out the other tasks (other choices).
Portfolio is basically to achieve strategic business objectives; I would say “Operations” can be part of Portfolio, why not. Don’t confuse Program management with portfolio, your comment on “relatd work only” is associated with programs and not Portfolio.

There is some confusion regarding the last activity of closure “is it Archive Project Documents” or “Measure customer satisfaction at the end of the project”
Also its said obtaining formal sign off from customer is part of closure ..isn’t it already part of “Verify Scope”
Also what should be the answer of foll question and particularly why its not choice 4
