How did you prepare, what were your scores in mock tests ?

I learned the process chart and did a lot of the practice chapter tests on pmstudy website.  was doing great on them.  then right before someone suggested to do the mock test - wasnt doing so great on them.  but always made sure to look back and look at what I got wrong.

I see on here that the PMBOK is greatly used.  I used the PMStudy book instead.  I do know where I went wrong.  I wasnt has familiar with the ITTO - big part of the test.

I wont be taking again until the week of Nov 12 -so any ideas that you can throw my way would ne appreciated.  I do have the PMBOK book.

I do have to re-memorize the chart with ITTO.  I don't have the memory I used to that is for sure.

 Hi Angela,

I can understand how you feel, especially after a second attempt.  I shared my LL at the following link

http://pmzilla.com/passed-pmp-exam-today-24102012-second-attempt-my-ll

It was my second attemtp and I passed. I suggest the following:

1-  Please use PMBOk as your first reference. Read the guide several times and ensure that you understand the concepts

2- I would not recommend memorizing ITTO unless you memory does not play tricks on you and you are good at memorizing. I personnaly think it is not worth the time. I try 2 times and never had to memorize ITTOs (I had only 1-3 direct ITTO question on my 2 attemps). I'd rather suggest you try to grasp the logic behind ITTOs.

3- Please do a lots of Mock exams before the real deal and work on your weak areas. I used PM Fast Track v7 from Rita as my first simulation tool and did more than 1800 questions. On my second attemp lots of the questions on the exam were similar to Rita's ones.

4- Use a study plan that best suits you. Don't necessary try to do what others have done but rather adapt to your style. In my case although I read LLs, i made my own notes according to my learning style. It worked the second time around.

5- Keep your motivation high, don't wait too long to re-take the exam but more importantly measure your progress and only show for the exam if you feel comfortable.

Good  Luck,

Brahima.

Hello Angela,

Sorry to hear this. I would highly recommend “Abhishek's Version - Rajesh Nair PMP Notes”. It’s located at:

Put more emphasis on PMBOK this time.

Thanks & Regards,
