Project Report

Project Reports are a method to  DISTRIBUTE INFORMATION or REPORT PERFORMANCE ?

Rita says distribute information. In my opinion it tells the performance of the project. its  a direct output of report performance. then why distribute information ?

Will be nice to hear different opinions.

Thanks,

Shweta

Is it distribute information because the question is saying project report NOT performance report. ?

Yes, in real life Project Reports applies to both distribute information and report performance process. You have to understand one thing that before you apply for PMP exam, PMI expects you to have 4500 hours of leadership/management experiences. The reason why they have kept this experience is because they want you to think real life and with smartness. Majority of PMP questions are situational for the same reason and not direct one.

Rita talks with the same energy in the manuscript she has written, she had tried to show more real life project management. Please do not scan books line, if you do that you will just be able to solve 30% of PMP questions. As you are eligible to apply for PMP think real life why do you need "Project Reports", is it not for distributing information in right format and right protocol? is it not part of report performance process? etc

Saket, PMP

Saket has explained it well.

In my understanding, "information" is a general term that applies to any bit of data. If you give me a project performance report, then doesnt this report give me information? Still it gives me the information - but probably related to project performance and associated data.

My point is, we should not be confused of these simple terms. As saket implied, we should not scrutinize the book line by line or word for word and be confused of every literal meaning.
