Simple question

You are working on a secret project for the military. Because of a recent military order, the project will need to include extensive changes to the information system, internal procedures, and standardized forms. These changes were considered and accommodated during project initiation and planning. From here on, what other outputs are you expected to deliver?

  1. Deliverables, corrective actions, and defect repair

  2. Recommended corrective actions, forecasts, and requested changes

  3. Approved change requests, rejected change requests, and deliverables

  4. Contract closure procedure, along with final product, service, or result

Ans: A, Considered initiating and planning completed, so it comes to consider executing process output!!!

Answer please!!!!

Since the changes have already been accounted for C is already done.

D is not valid since it does not state if another vendor is involved in delivering the product

B is not correct since from here on, the project should have "deliverables" as one of the outputs.

Hence  A is correct.

I choose D,

Though I also consider, that Either I have little English problem, or question is itself not correctly asked.

---------------------------------------------------

Since extensive changes taken place - in initiating and planning process groups, which would change only methodologies procedures, methos and processes. As contents itself telling these are PMIS, Internal Procedures, and Standarized forms.

There is no changes in Scope.

Even if till planning processes scope got changes, it is only document change, no tangible deliverables even get to start.

If it is contracted project charter, then on scope change it will be affected as contract will be revised.

But only procedures are being changed , means contract procedures will be affected.

Hence all first 3 should not be an answer.

Simply procedures will be affected and delivarable or product or service or result will be same and without chnages.

Hence D would be answer.

Though it is true that changes are invitable, it will happen to be there. But Why I should expect those? No one can expect that changes should be.

You expect at planning stage only delivarables. Corrective actions or Defect repair could not be expected as planning.

Because the initiating and planning phases already were completed, the project manager is likely to be at the execution phase of the project.

One process during project execution is Direct and Management Project Execution, which produces the following outputs: deliverables, work performance information, project management plan updates, project document updates, and change requests, which include corrective and preventive actions, and defect repair.

The other options are incorrect because they list outputs for the Monitoring and Controlling, and Closing processes of a project.

I do agree with sspawar, but as per PMI, there is no sequence you can move into Closing with out Executing the plans. So., Answe A is the perfect one.

I would rather prefer to use “common sense” when I see situational question framed using indirect PMBOK section. Let’s see this:

1. The most important output you create when you work for a project is “deliverables”. In reality project cost is the cost of quality deliverables. With this said so, I will immediately shortlist two choices (A) and (C) and throw others out.
2. In (A) I am left with corrective actions, and defect repair and with (C) I have to see now “Approved change requests, rejected change requests”. I will ignore (C) because “Approved change requests, rejected change requests” are already considered before you work for a deliverables and hence I should NOT expect them as any output.
3. I am just left with (A) and that’s what should be the right choice.

As a last note and as usual, if you do not agree with me, please flush this out and trust what you believe in.
