Prometric Centra at Kolkata

Hello,


Can anybody share his/her experience at Prometric centra at Kolkata (India) please?


I am planning to appear from Kolkata centre soon.


What are the documents they do check and if any specific information to be known to me.


How is the environment? Is there any disturbance in the surroundngs? Do they allow ear plug or they will provide if required. I udnerstand they do not allow any personal belongings. Can we keep (ladies) hand-bag/purse with us?


Please share if anyone has any experience (good/bad whatever).

I think you are living in KOLKATA.


Visit the centre at any working day/hours, and get feedback physically.


If you have been applied for that centre then definitely address is with you else you may get by prometric centre website.

Thanks Pawar Ji for sharing latitude information. This will help people even if they are on satellite. After passing PMP exam, you anyway feel that you are on satellite, and in reality you are on earth…project management!

Some more information than what I have not posted earlier:


What are the documents they do check and if any specific information to be known to me.
Nothing, except photo ID proof. Please carry a hard copy of invitation for the PMP exam that you get for the exam, although it’s not required as the security has list of names that are listed to appear for the PMP exam, they just validate your identity by seeing your photo ID proof. It’s same as you take your Photo ID card to board a domestic flight, something very similar.


How is the environment?
Environment is cold because of silence and AC, so make sure you carry jacket to wear.


Is there any disturbance in the surroundings?
No disturbance, because you cannot clap or sing song, however you are free to cry (with silence) if you fail. Unfortunately, you cannot see other people screen also, its arranged in such a way (like private cabin). School/college’s trick does not work there and another bad side is that you are being watched by the security (Video surveillance).


Do they allow ear plug or they will provide if required.
Yes, but you are not allowed to carry anything inside, the computers do have ear plug and you can use it. Prometric will provide this, you don’t need to carry.


I understand they do not allow any personal belongings. Can we keep (ladies) hand-bag/purse with us?
Nothing you can keep except the locker key (in the locker you can keep everything), photo ID proof and the cloths you wore. Not even drinking water to carry inside. Your dress will also be checked twice before you enter the exam lab.

I am old person, let young mind share their experiences. My experience was good, because I passed!

My resiteration is going to close on august 25..2012, in between i given the exam on 17.082012, result was fail. please let me know may i pay full fee for theregistration of next year examination, or i should be wait for one year more... please anwer if anybody hav ethe knowledege in it

You can pay the renewal fee for membership to continue the membership benefit for another one year. Remember, always take the membership before you pay the exam fee as you are going to save huge amount being a member.


You have failed on 17th August 2012, so you can take another attempt before your exam eligibility period expires assuming this was not the 3rd time you failed.


In case this was your 3rd failure, wait till 17th August 2013 and then apply for PMP exam again i.e. pay membership fee and exam fee and start for another exam cycle i.e. 3 attempts.
