In my huumble opinion, you'll be wasting your valuable time if you try to memorize the ITTOs. Focus on understanding the concepts behind it and you should be good to go.
Personally, I try to take online quizes on ITTOs and they seem to help, I have seen that I score around 80% in all ITTOs questions that I answer.
I guess the key aim in studying ITTOs is to be able to answer direct / indirect questions in the test which require one to 'reproduce' the exact items. Personally, even though I did understand the concepts behind the processes, I found it hard to recall some of the obscurely named inputs/outputs like "Risk Related Contract Decisions" etc. and where they fit into. And that is why I memorized the whole lot. Needless to say, this approach did prove to be a prominent deal maker for me in the final exam.
But then I guess that's the answer to "why I memorized the ITTOs" rather than "why YOU should memorize the ITTOs" !

I learnt it like we did for maths tables back in our kindergarten. And every morning I used to devote 15-20 min to write down the whole stuff. Also used mnemonics which I had developed on my own.
It vary with person to person what should be the style.
Memorising something is good then concept. But at the same time Memorising is not a jOKE for people like me.
In PMBOK all ITTOS are not of that quality that you can answer correctly by your concepts.
Concepts means your perception, jugdement, right or wrong - so it is an individual quality.
Main definition we all know - but we reply the same question in different way, like last few 10ners and 5ves are answered by many of us, differently, this is the concept.
So if you can memorise few chapters or all then it will be better than concept (CONCEPTS have your own proof, which may be right or wrong) where memorising is certainly a right shot .
My intution says it is better to memorise, if you can. It will help always, it is a positive side. It is inner strength for you.
After all concepts also work at your hidden memories.
To be frank, I came to PMZilla and saw some mnemonics and tried cramming but I miserably failed
I realized that I do not have good memory and gave up and followed the points I suggested above.
I was surprised to see my progress and I could answer all ITTO related Qs (almost 5 to 6) with much ease.
My strong suggestion would be not to memorize as it would kill lot of your time and you may not be able to answer few tricky questions if you do not think it through.
Remember when you visualize, you would put lot of pressure on your brain and it would think more and you would gain more.
This is million dollar question and luckily it does not have any answer. The day you will have answer, the PMP exam door would shut down.
There are few things that cannot be documented like playing melody music, cooking tasty food, singing and so as individual habits to memorize things.
You have to understand that majority of PMP questions would be directly or indirectly on IITO. You have to understand and learn those. How you do it, it’s your individual habits and style. Assuming, PMP exam is for a mature person and not for kids, every individual should talk to his/her own brain and find out a way to understand and learn IITO. Talking with own conscience and finding out a way is the best way to do self 360 degree analysis.
BEWARE of copying other habits. You have your own matured brain with you and you are grown up, find out your own ways.
Finally, do not go for Ayurvedic medicine for this.
Brittan here are few tips that might come handy [not sure if you already knew these] –
üAll process which begins with Develop or Create have the main output same as in process. For example, Develop Project Charter = Project Charter, Create WBS = WBS
üFor most Monitoring and Controlling Process, inputs include WPI (Work Performance Information) and relevant plan documents. Outputs typically include Change Requests
üRisk Register is input to all subsequent risk processes, once it’s created in Identify Risk process
üAll Integration Process include Expert Judgment as Tool
Do not take time bound mock test. You might take those tests where you can see answers below the questions.
If you have some handy notes where important PMBOK line extracts are done, read those many times. Also keep reading PMBOK important IITO pages and summery.
Try to relax your mind by watching favorite TV program and movies.
In the real exam, if you feel nervous, tell your mind that the worst can happen is that you will fail and nothing else. What happens if you fail? Simple, repay the free and try again. (Almost 50% of people come under this category, so you are no exception…cheers!)
Apparently this seems tough but it’s not. I will rather say get flash cards for ITTO. There are lots of websites that provide these free of cost, unless you wish to. Sometime its other way round, more you will be in dilemma, more you put your thoughts on line. Seems supremacy is trying to get proved by achieving the certification…

If you can understand the ITTO concepts and can answer ITTO questions then I would think, you dont have to memorize.
Tip - Try to memorize some typical ones where you generally make mistake , and understand the concept for most others.

I totally agree with Anandkp when he says constant practice.
What I was 30 days before and what I am today there is a lot of difference. Most of the time my scores are in excess of 90+.
Did you use any mnemonics Anand as others do or was it constant practice?
