Wooooooohhhhhhhhh...Passed PMP! on 25th July 2012

 Hello ALL PM Aspirants,

I was a quite watcher and follower of PMZilla and ofcourse lot of Pm members have helped me a lot in answering my questions posted on PMZilla forums.

If someone asks me how is it taking PMP exam?  I would say its not easy ...its not tough if you are thorough with the understanding and logic of PMI language and terminology.

Heres what I did wiht my study plan:

Read PMBok guide..once ..Read Rita Mulcahy sixth edition and after every chapter, i tested myself on the chapters questions and made sure to get atleast 75% on each chapter., which mean I had to read twice a chapter sometimes.

My second round was to attempt about 2000 questions from various sites - all free PM Mock exams which gave me enough confidence about sitting through the exams for four hours at a stretch.  I started scoring between 70- 85% depending on the tests.  The mock exams are no where the actual PMP exams. However, this gave me real confidence of appearing for the PMP actual test.

My third round was to read Rita Mulchahy and afterwhich I read the whole PMBoK again ...and this whole process took me about two months of rigorous study for atleast 3 hrs daily.

Just one week before my exam, I was confident and startted my revision and appeared the mock free simulated exams online from PM Study which are a bit close to what you can expect on the actual PMP exam.

Also, i was reading thru all the PM Zilla discussions from the forum on a daily basis.

Finally two day before...I just read Rajesh Nair's notes which are awesome...one should read for sure before appearing for the exam.

For ITTO's i followed the nuemonics from PmZilla forums and also i created my own, but I recommend everyone who is trying to appear for PMP, must and should memorize ITTos from Risk, Procurement and Quality.

I also used to practice my dump sheet everyday as i i was on the actual exam.

All this hard work paid off ultimately, and Here I am with a new designation which will add value to my career path.

I thank everyone on PMzilla forum members for having this wonderful website which allows it to post so much information which is very useful and provides so much insight and knowledge on attaining this " Looks like Rocket Science Certification" In real, nothing is rocket science, it is all about dedication and perseverance.

Rest: I did it with the Almighty's blessings and also great support from my kids and my spouse.

Thanks and all the Best !

MK

Hi MK...

Congratulations on your PMP. Can you list for me the free test you tried and the good one you can suggest after your PMP exam experience?

Hi MK,

You are one of the three aspirants about whom I was more sure on passing than, perhaps, they themselves.

1st = Diba, who passed with 5 Ps almost two weeks back in Bengaluru aka Bangalore.

2nd = You, as your posts always gave positive vibes.

3rd = Brittany aka Britt who is slated to appear in a week's time in the USofA.

Kudos on your success. Wonderful! Have a blast with your supporting spouse and very lovable kiddos.

Warmly, KK....
