Passed my PMP on 23rd July

 Hi All ,

I passed my PMP exam yesterday with 2 P and 3 MP . This forum has helped me a lot , now it's time to give back to a nice community . Here's my LL:

I started preparing for PMP last year , but seriously started it this March , tried reading PMBOK , but couldn't understand beyond first chapter , so started reading Rita  and Headfirst . Both books are excellent but Rita's book helped me a lot to understand all concepts thoroughly , I also did a lot of prac questions. Rita's Fastrack (always scored more than 70%), but when I tried Oliver Lehman and PMStudy I got 65% to 68% . I started making notes of my gaps , To clarify those gaps I checked PMBOK , Rita , and researched on Internet. This helped me to understand some concepts thoroughly. Exam was very tough , I took all 4 hours , just submitted it one minute before.

During first 15 min demo time - I dumped all Cost ,  PTA , PV , NPV formulas and 42 process chart . This took me 10 min.  Real exam questions were all very different from all practise tests. Some questions were so wordy that I had to read question 2 times to understand it properly. Calculations questions were very easy. Situational questions - very tough !!. I think you really need to understand all ITTO's  and flow , and not just remember the names.

Here's my ITTO's :

Inputs :

lots of hard work , lots of study time (2-3 hrs weekdays and 8-10 hours weekends) , I also took off from work for 3 days before the exam.

TT:

Rita's book

Headfirst

PMBOK (few chapters only)

Networking (Thanks Kranti Kumar for sending me ITTO chart on one page, I carried that everywhere, Thanks to Sophie Cui from my work who is also studying with me for PMP, Thanks to my family for letting me read on weekends )

Practise questions - I did lots of questions , my advise is do 50-60 questions a day once you have completed 2 full rounds of PMBOK or Rita's book. FastTrack questions are very good , but PmStudy  question pattern is more close to real exam.

Rajesh Nair's notes (excellent notes) - read at least two times

PMBOK Glossary (thanks KK for this)

Ouputs :

PMP certification , Happy me and Happy family :)

Thanks
