PMP bootcamp

Hello all, I'm new to these parts and this seems like a good place to post a question that has been on my mind.

I'm signed up to take a 4-day "gauranteed to pass" bootcamp (paid for by my employer) and was thinking about signing up for the exam on the Fri directly following the class.  Is this a good idea?  WIll my brain be too scrambled?  I've begun reading Rita 7th ed and will follow with the pmbok, so I think I'll be prepared enough especially after the bootcamp....your thoughts?  thx in advance!!!

I guess it would be a good idea to appear in the exam immediately post the bootcamp ONLY IF you fully complete all your preps(Rita, PMBOK, questions, mocks etc.) before the bootcamp starts. This approach will surely be safer.

Since it’s a guaranteed scheme, why not try? Moreover, your employer is paying, so why worry much. Go ahead and try your luck.

It is difficult to gauge your situation and suggest one way or the other. You have to decide this for yourself and ofcourse, you know it. It just helps, if you hear it from others. I do not know your background. At the end of the boot camp, if you feel, that this camp merely re-inforced your existing knowledge of PMI PMBOK ideas, then, you can veer around the idea of an examination date near the date of completion of the boot camp.

If at the end of the boot camp, you feel you have gained new knowledge that needs some more re-inforcement, then, you should be cautious about an exam date close to the completion of the boot camp.

Best wishes.

Thanks

It depends on how comfortable you are with the material before the bootcamp. I signed up for the Simplilearn pass guaranteed bootcamp after going over only their material before the class and I did not feel ready for the exam after the bootcamp. After the bootcamp I found this forum and started studying Rita's Book and Head First and doing many mock exams. I am signed to sit for the exam this Friday and I believe I am finally ready. I am however past the 30 day guarantee but I feel like I am ready. Hope this helps.
