What is meaning of Psychometric analysis

The passing score for all PMI credential examinations is determined by sound psychometric analysis.
PMI uses subject matter experts from across the globe to help establish a point at which each candidate
should pass the examination(s) and the examination point of difficulty. Data that show how candidates
actually performed is cross referenced with the subject matter experts to ensure that the point of difficulty
on each examination is healthy.

Psychometric analysis is all...
Psychometric analysis is all about how well can you use your common sense, in other words how do you answer tough question knowing you do not have time to answer it.
PMP exam intentionally keeps some tough questions whose solution finding takes time.
The person, who keeps common sense in side, will get into the question like space scientist and would use all his developed brain to derive the answer. He will be able to find the right answer-----he would win the war, no doubt. But in reality he losses time for 10-15 simple questions. The PMP result is always FAIL for such candidates.
I hope this helps to understand, that passing PMP is not just about how many books you read and how deep PMBOK lines you scan.
